Rescuers free huge python badly trapped in wire mesh fence for 24 hours

A python tried to sneak through a wire mesh fence erected by a farmer to protect his poultry and cattle at a village in Ahmednagar district in western India.
The fence did its work and trapped the python. However, the huge adult snake struggled to free itself but only managed to get more tightly entangled in the wire mesh.
The farmer saw the exhausted snake lying limply in a jumble of wires from the partially destroyed fence on September 18, but didn’t know what to do. He called Animal Rescue Society a day later, whose members led by Akash Jadhav rushed to the village.
They saw that the snake was badly trapped with the wires cutting into its flesh and set out to release it immediately. The python, though exhausted, saw them as a threat and tried to attack them ferociously.
Akash managed to restrain the head of the snake while his colleagues cut the wires with a blade.
Akash said: “The snake became very agitated and made rescue difficult. As it had not suffered any injury we released it immediately in a nearby forest.”
