Python rescued after getting stuck in drain cover during storm in Thailand
This is the moment a huge python was rescued after getting stuck in a manhole cover under the pouring rain.
Footage was taken by passerby Khun Terawat while he was driving to work in Chonburi, eastern Thailand on May 4.
In the video, the suffering snake is stuck in the metal drain cover while the volunteers pull it out with difficulty.
After they had taken the serpent out, it tried to slither away and protect itself by giving a hiss.
Terawat said they were driving past the alley when they noticed the snake trying to get in the drain but it was stuck.
He said: “We then stopped to help the python. The kind residents told us that it was hit by a motorcycle during the heavy rain. We called the rescue team, but because of the storm, they came to the scene five minutes later when we had finished helping the snake.”
The python was taken away from the residents and released back into the woods.
