here’s the thing: compared to medical grade masks, they do worse at filtering shit.BUT in a normal place, like a store, or exercising outside, on public transit, it absolutely helps keep in coughs, sneezes, breath particles in. otherwise those would drop on doors, seats, handles, tables, etc. the most important thing, i think, is constantly washing your hands. because the things you touch, and then you touch your eyes, mouth, nose, is what gives you the virus.so yes, masks do help. any and all. i don’t think regular people need those damn n95s walking around safeway, unless you’re like immunocompromised, elderly, etc. but if then, i wouldn’t even be walking around during this time.
