HBO Max continues to stack up its summer release schedule.
In July 2020, the streaming service will welcome new shows including Expecting Amy (a docuseries that follows Amy Schumer’s pregnancy), Close Enough (a J. G. Quintel adult animation about a millennial couple in L.A.), and Frayed (a comedy in which a London housewife confronts her past in late-80s Australia). It will also bid farewell to Sesame Street’s 50th season, which will wrap up with a finale on July 11.
Movies that are hitting the service include Star Trek, Harriet, Saving Private Ryan, Space Jam, Get Smart, Midway, and a handful of National Lampoon titles. If you want to celebrate Christmas in July, you’ll be glad to know that Last Christmas (starring Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding) and The Polar Express will also be made available.

Top Pick: Star Trek (2009)

Though you might not be able to watch any big blockbusters in theaters this summer, you will be able to stream this classic from your home.
J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot is perfect for longtime Trekkies and series newcomers as it blends stylish visuals with a snappy script. Additionally, the entire cast (especially Chris Pine who leads as Captain Kirk) adds welcome new life to the sci-fi story with sharp performances.
Thankfully, Star Trek has two sequels and another one on the way — so if you fall for the first, you should get ready to embark on a couple more space adventures with the Enterprise crew.
