Pets boosting morale during coronavirus pandemic, study says

All the time spent together with pets has 7 in 10 pet owners feeling like they actually know their pet a lot better since the pandemic began, according to new research.Many have noticed some behavioral changes, too — 6 in 10 respondents, to be exact, said they’ve noticed their pet acting a bit differently during the pandemic, and while 27% said their pet’s behavior has improved, nearly 1 in 5 (17%) said it’s gotten worse.Through the pandemic, pets have been much more active (36%), acting needy (31%), struggling to go up and down the stairs (27%) and even being more curious than usual (26%).
The survey polled 2,000 cat and dog owners, and found that our pets have helped boost morale during quarantine.

Forty-two percent said they will still work from home even when quarantine ends, and more than a third plan to take their pet with them whenever they leave the house.
